Comparison between a Canon 550d and a Nikon D3100
The Canon 550d is already known and is packed with Canon luxury as well as advanced features. I am now going to do a review and a comparison between a Canon 550d and a Nikon D3100, looking at which are the best for a photographers needs. We will also look at which one of the two offers a better performance, and which of the two are better priced. Most photographers recently have expressed that they prefer the Nikon D3100.
However, photographers are now debating whether they prefer the Nikon D3100 or the Canon 55d. When it comes to pricing both these cameras can be competitive. Both the Nikon and Canon are extremely popular however doing some research online has showed the Nikon D3100 is one of the most successful digital and popular cameras. In spite of the Nikon D3100 not having a 1080p full HD recording and the video quality is not the same as the Canon 550d it is still a popular choice.Comparison between a Canon 550d and a Nikon D3100 when it comes to video output quality you can clearly see that there is room for improvement. The only reason why the Nikon D3100 is in high demand is that mostly used by amateurs as well as enthusiasts. As you know most cameras produce good quality JPEG images, but when we look at additional features then one needs to see what the Canon offer as opposed to the Nikon.
When you are a professional photographer then not only image quality is important but factors such as reliability, lens availability, innovation as well as ergonomics are of vital importance. For instance lens availability is an important factor and yes Canon and Nikon lead the way and both these cameras have received excellent reviews. However, the body of the camera is also an important factor even though the design keeps changing that is why the professionals prefer to use the Canon 550d as well as other Canon models. The lenses on the other hand play a vital role when it comes to final image quality.
Due to the new releases that Canon has brought onto the market when it comes to lenses, this already lends itself to more popularity due to the high quality, and professional photographers are willing to spend more money on high quality lenses, as opposed to fashionable or state of the art camera bodies. Professional are looking for quality photos, not fashionable bodies. Both these cameras especially the Canon offer features such as internal GPS receivers which allow for automatic geotag photos.
Professional photographers have been waiting for this unique GPS receiver feature for the purpose of geotagging images. So the latest Comparison between a Canon 550d and a Nikon D3100 has now become extremely competitive, as both these makes of cameras have brought out GPS receivers. However, reliability is also a major factor and now both the companies are competing as both companies have listened to customer needs and requirements.
Another very important factor is that when taking photos image stabilization is also important as neither the Canon 550d nor the Nikon D3100 have internal image stabilization. This is the reason why photographers pay more for their lenses in order to obtain lens image stabilization. However, both Canon and Nikon are striving to improve and update these features and Canon has come up with a new telephoto zoom lens which is one of the features offered in the 550d. Many photographers have stated that the Nikon D3100 gives a better overall performance, and at present there are several debates as to which are the better camera the Canon or the Nikon. To date it looks like the Nikon D3100 has taken the lead.
Well when it comes to the Comparison between a Canon 550d and a Nikon D3100 review, my own opinion is that my first choice would be the Canon 555d, as I am a professional wildlife photographer and have used Canon for many years and have produced top quality photos. However I also have an older model Nikon which also produces quality photos and have recently bought the Nikon D3100 which I find to be a good camera. Basically when buying a camera one needs to look at their specific needs and end results.
