With regards to ISO, the automatic sensitivity is highly configurable, while the playback and delete combination is easy to use. The record review makes all the playback functions available. One of the best features of Nikon D40 is the unlimited continuous shooting in JPEG mode. The SD card and USB 2.0 transfer speed is really fast. Nikon D40 digital SLR also supports both SD and SDHC cards, making it more convenient for the photographer. The Active D-Lighting and Red-eye reduction features are priceless, while the wide viewing angles shown by the LCD monitor are large enough to be examined properly.
Because this camera is less expensive than most SLRs in the market, Nikon D40 digital SLR does not have exposure of white balance bracketing. This may be heartbreaking, but what's more disappointing is that the RAW+JPEG setting only records Basic quality JPEG's. While these features are somewhat depressing, the Nikon D40 is still a proud product that deserves a good recognition considering it is the most compact camera by Nikon.
