Nikon D5000 Digital SLR
Nikon D5000 Digital SLR
Noted for its flip-out and swivel LCD screen, the Nikon D5000 Digital SLR is a camera packed with so many good features that may sound as if it is actually a collection of notable camera traits by Nikon. One of the best cameras in the D series, the D5000 proves its worth through the good-looking images even when taken under low lighting. Also, the RAW and JPEG in-camera processing system is very convenient, to say the least. The video recording is good enough if you want some live scenes to be captured, but Nikon 5000 is better off as a photographer’s camera. One of the features Nikon D5000 digital SLR must be proud of is the over-the-top image quality it can produce. With highly configurable contrast, saturation and brightness settings, Nikon 5000 is flexible enough to provide high quality images. The dynamic ranges and tonal response are both impressive, not to mention the high ISO performance of this device. The control system and user interface are friendly, such that the responsiveness of this camera is better than other digital SLRs. The viewfinder is good enough, as well as the automatic chromatic aberration correction. With the automatic aberration correction, the images come clean and with more natural colors. Photographers on the go would certainly find the fast Autofocus and fast power-on and shut-down very convenient and useful. The metering is also reliable during periods of underexposure. Also, what makes Nikon D5000 more user-friendly is the configurable “My Menu”, the handy FUNC button, the reversible dial, and the easy mode switch. An auto-focus assist lamp is also functional during fast continuous shooting mode. Red-eye reduction, distortion correction and Active D-lighting are also features that you should never miss while experiencing Nikon D5000 digital SLR. Although Nikon D5000 is reliable given its high flexibility at the settings, the control system cannot be appreciated by users who prefer one-touch button press. Despite the fast continuous shooting mode and auto-focus, the contrast detect AF is notably the slowest among the high-end Nikon cameras, at least for most images. There’s no AF motor in D500, so the lens choice is very limited. If you have to buy a lens, make sure you buy the famous ones since they are the surest lenses that are compatible to this camera. All in all, Nikon D5000 digital SLR is still a great buy with great ISO performance, image capturing and video recording.
