Olympus E-450 Digital SLR

Olympus E-450: A Fully-Loaded DSLR

One of the lightest and smallest DSLR on the market, the Olympus E-450 digital SLR is a very compact camera yet fully-packed with features. It presents 10 megapixels within a clear 2.7 inch LCD screen. Weighing only about 400 g, this camera can be taken anywhere while staying inside a small bag. The Olympus E-450 is actually an enhancement of E-420, with added 3-in-camera Art Filter effects which is the disappointing lack of the earlier Olympus digital SLRs belong to E series. The Live View mode has improved with the new face detection, Auto Focus and contrast detection add-ons. Also, the relatively new Shadow Adjustment Technology makes this camera a bargain compared to other entry-level cameras.
The Olympus E-450 digital SLR only has 3.5 frames per second, which is much slower compared to other digital SLRs of the same level. In spite of this, this camera still comes with high ISO performance that can be maximized up to 1600. The lowest ISO performance, ISO 100, can still bring decent image outputs. As compared to other DSLRs on the market, the advantages of this camera lie on its weight and compactness, such that there are only a few competitors that could boast 10 megapixels with such diminutive body.  The features of E-450, which include the Perfect Shot Preview and dual memory card slots for xD-Picture Card and CompactFlash are those that give this camera a competitive edge against other high-end digital SLRs.
Included in the E series family, the E-450 digital SLR can be observed as a camera without a right-hand grip. This DSLR shares the same quality with the E-410 and E-420. Although the no hand grip feature was preferred by photographers back in the 1980s, modern cameras would not be satisfyingly complete without a hand grip. This makes the E-450 less comfortable to hold than those with reliable hand grips.  This camera should be best used by photographers with small hands since they would stabilize the camera far better than those with longer fingers and larger palms. With this said, some would probably love the ergonomics of E-450, while most modern photographers would be very disappointed with such a camera without a helping hand to hold, literally.
With all these said, it is found out that many users find no-hand grip DSLRs such as the E-450 very awkward to use. However, many photographers who tried this camera actually testified that it is very comfortable to use even without a real hand grip.
