Sony a850 digital slr

Being the predecessor of a900, the Sony a850 digital slr is often compared to the later camera in terms of image quality. This camera has undergone a series of basic studio tests by many camera reviewers, and was found out to have an image quality the same as that of Sony a900. However, the difference of the two lies on the speed of continuous shooting. Being a later version, the Sony a900 is found out to have a bigger bugger and viewfinder at the same time than that of Sony a850 digital slr. However, this camera is still a good one to consider since the image output it delivers is truly identical to its bigger brother, the a900.
With good lenses at hand, the Sony a850 digital slr can bring out class-leading resolution and camera JPEG results. The image quality is outstanding, having good measures in tonality, dynamic range and color. The Sony 850 has a solid build quality that features environmental sealing. Also, the control and menu system was placed nice and neat, preventing any confusion the user might have. In addition to this, the raw dynamic range is excellent, showing the flexibility of this camera. While the reliable metering and exposure reaches 100%, the Quick Navi control also makes this camera user-friendly and easy to use.
The optical viewfinder of Sony a850, although not as big as that of a900, is already large and bright, resulting to excellent images.  Ergonomically speaking, the built of Sony a850 digital slr is excellent as compared to the other entry-level cameras in the market. What’s great about this camera is that it has an excellent battery life which is what the photographer-on-the-go always needs wherever he goes. On top of these traits of Sony a850, its price is reasonable and more affordable than other cameras in the same level.
Although this camera is truly promising, it has some drawbacks that have to be considered before purchase. An important con to consider is that the noise reduction settings are applied to both JPEG and RAW files. The lack of flexibility of Sony a850 is observed when these settings cannot be turned off for RAW files. Another drawback is that noise tends to be on higher levels when the ISO is at 400.  Even if this camera can be turned to ISO 6400, this setting is for a very limited use only.
The Sony a850 digital slr has many advantages as well as disadvantages for the user. However, this is a great camera for a beginner or a mid-range photographer.
